Humanitara (the “Service”) is operated by Humanitara, Inc. (“Humanitara,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit our websites, create an account, complete an assessment, purchase or use a Humanitara program, communicate with us, or otherwise use the Service.
1. Information we collect
We may collect:
- Account and profile information: name, email address, password or authentication data, country or region, organization, role, and account preferences.
- Assessment and personalization information: answers you choose to provide in diagnostic assessments, resulting strengths or development areas, recommended learning paths, and preferences used to tailor your experience. Please do not include medical, financial, or other highly sensitive personal information in open-text responses.
- Learning and activity information: enrollments, lesson and module activity, progress, completion, quiz results, downloads, reflections, feedback, and other interactions with the Service.
- Transaction information: selected plan, price, currency, order history, subscription status, billing dates, cancellation and refund status, and limited payment information supplied by our payment processor. We do not directly store full payment-card numbers.
- Communications: messages and requests sent to support, responses to surveys, and records of service or marketing communications.
- Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring pages, pages or features used, timestamps, approximate location derived from IP address, cookie identifiers, and diagnostic logs.
- Organization-provided information: if your employer or another organization sponsors your access, it may provide account and eligibility information and may receive limited participation or progress reporting as described to you and agreed with that organization.
2. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service;
- create and administer accounts, purchases, subscriptions, and enrollments;
- score diagnostic assessments and build, update, and deliver personalized learning paths;
- track learning progress and adapt recommendations, exercises, and content;
- process payments, cancellations, and refund requests;
- provide support and send transactional, account, security, and service messages;
- send marketing communications where permitted, subject to your choices;
- measure product usage, performance, and engagement;
- prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements; and
- create aggregated or de-identified insights that do not reasonably identify an individual.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where required, including for certain marketing or non-essential cookies.
3. How personalization works
Humanitara uses assessment answers and learning activity to recommend content, exercises, and learning paths. Reassessment and ongoing activity may change what is recommended next. This personalization supports the learning experience; it does not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
4. How we disclose information
We may disclose personal information to:
- Service providers that host or operate the learning platform, process payments, provide email and customer support, support analytics and security, or otherwise perform services for us. These providers may include Thinkific and the payment, email, analytics, and support providers configured for the Service.
- Your sponsoring organization, if it purchases or administers your access. We will limit reporting to the information described to you or agreed with that organization, such as enrollment, participation, progress, or completion. We will not provide the organization with full payment-card details. Assessment-level reporting should be aggregated or limited unless individual-level sharing is clearly disclosed and authorized.
- Professional advisers and authorities when reasonably necessary for legal, tax, audit, insurance, security, or regulatory purposes.
- Parties to a corporate transaction such as a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale, subject to appropriate protections.
- Others at your direction or with your consent.
We do not sell personal information for money. If our use of advertising or analytics technologies is considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising under applicable law, we will provide any required notice and opt-out mechanism.
5. Payments
Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. Those providers collect and process payment details under their own privacy policies and security obligations. We receive transaction records and limited payment-related information needed to administer purchases, subscriptions, cancellations, and refunds.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our providers may use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, operate and secure the Service, understand usage, and measure communications. Where required, non-essential cookies will be used only after consent. You can manage cookies through available consent controls and your browser settings, although disabling necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Service from working.
7. Marketing communications
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in the message or by contacting us. You may still receive transactional or service messages required to administer your account, enrollment, purchase, or security.
8. International transfers
We and our providers may process personal information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers, such as contractual protections or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms.
9. Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide the Service, maintain business and transaction records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations. Unless a longer period is required or justified:
- active account and learning records are retained while the account is active;
- closed-account assessment and learning records are deleted or de-identified when they are no longer reasonably needed for the Service, subject to legal, security, dispute-resolution, backup, and operational exceptions;
- transaction, tax, and accounting records are retained for the period required by applicable law; and
- support and marketing-consent records are retained as needed to document the request, response, or consent choice.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; opt out of certain marketing, targeted advertising, sale, or sharing; or appeal a denied privacy request. You may also have the right to complain to a local data-protection authority.
To exercise a privacy right, email [email protected] with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We may verify your identity before completing a request. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law.
12. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
13. Third-party links
The Service may link to third-party websites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a revised “Last updated” date and provide additional notice if required by law.
